Nelson & Area
As the cultural hub of the region, Nelson offers a unique combination of amenities on the doorstep to outdoor adventure. There is an abundance of acclaimed restaurants, cafes and breweries, with many featuring funky dining areas and spacious patios.
For prime waterfront views, the Prestige Lakeside Resort in Nelson can’t be beat. The largest hotel in the region offers a wide variety of rooms, including recently renovated contemporary suites. The Hume Hotel & Spa is ideally centred in the heart of downtown Nelson, and lives up to its claim of “antique, chic, boutique” and features multiple eateries on site. Nelson’s rich heritage is also prominent at the Cloudside Hotel in town, while the Adventure Hotel, Prestige Inn, Alpine Inn, and Baker Street Inn all provide comfortable and convenient stays within the compact downtown.
Just outside of Nelson you’ll find a variety of lodging options with their own special character. Combining history with a grand garden estate, the Blaylock Mansion is an attractive retreat only a ten-minute drive from Nelson along the scenic north shore of Kootenay Lake. Families and couples will appreciate the self-contained suites at Kokanee Glacier Resort in a tranquil setting between Nelson and Kokanee Creek Provincial Park. Those who value privacy, nature and luxury will find Logden Lodge ideal. Located between Nelson and the tiny hamlet of Ymir (with an amazing baker), the lodge provides easy access to the nearby rail trail and recreational opportunities nearby.
