Guided Cold War Bunker tours
During the height of the Cold War, in the 1950s and 1960s, nearly 50 bunkers were constructed across Canada. In 2017, the Nelson Museum began work on restoring the space and opening it to the public. You can join a tour of one of the Museumʼs best-loved spaces!

Bring your 0 to 18 month olds to the Library in Nelson for rhymes, songs & stories! A great way to meet other parents and caregivers, and enhance early literacy skills in a casual environment.

Drop in between 3:30 and 4:30 every Tuesday for CRAFTERNOON at the Nelson Public Library.
Crafts, LEGO, Ozobots, DatoDuo, STEAM stations & more! Every week is a bit different.
Activities will be geared towards school aged children aged 5-13.
Befriending Grief Series
This is a six-part series reclaiming the art of turning towards loss in service of healing. In community, we can transmute the powerful energies of sorrow into good grief.

Tea & Textiles
The J.B. Fletcher Museum in Ainsworth will be hosting gatherings for fibre enthusiasts and tea lovers to come and work on their knitting, crochet, embroidery, and spinning projects while connecting with fellow crafters. These gatherings will occur the first Wednesday of every month from 9-12. Drop ins welcome.
Music in the Park
The Arrow Lakes District Arts Council Presents our 26th Annual Music in the Park. Every Wednesday night from July 3 – Aug 27, 2024 at the Nakusp Park Gazebo from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Free live musical entertainment.

Drop by the Nelson Public Library Thursday mornings at 10:30 come to sing your favourite songs and hear some great stories!

Fall into Fall FREE Thursday evenings
The Nelson Museum is open late on Thursdays and admission is FREE from 4-8pm. Explore the new gallery exhibitions — A Crack in the Mirror in Gallery A and Within This Earthen Vessel in Gallery B — discover the region’s history in the 2nd Floor Museum Exhibit, and shop work from over 120 local artists in the Gift Shop.
A Pluckin’ Good Holiday Concert
Guitarists Emma Rush, Mike Rud, and Nikko Forsberg come together to play joyful and seasonal music for one, two, and three guitars! Don’t miss this special evening with three of Nelson’s finest guitarists. Tickets $25 available at Eddy Music, at the door, or reserve at 905 807 4792.
Meat & Prize Draws
Every Friday afternoon, the Nelson Royal Canadian Legion (402 Victoria Street – Stanley Street Entrance) holds meat & prize draws from 3 to 5 pm. There is also often a 50/50 draw. All proceeds to local charities. Please come out and join us in a great community cause.

Nelson Waldorf School Winter Faire
As the darkest part of the year approaches, the Nelson Waldorf School invites you to join us for a celebration of the magical winter season with children’s activities such as the popular cookie kingdom, candle dipping and children only store, as well as a cafe, used book store, and a local artisan market.

Nelson Choral Singers: JUBILATE DEO
Nelson Choral Singers are performing an amazing choral work in 7 languages. Directed by Kathleen Neudorf, the 65 member choir is joined by soloists Noémi Kiss and Yuri Shinozawa plus musicians Carlisle Beresford, Rob Fahie, Vida Herbison, David Lane and Steven Parish. Tickets ($20 cash) at Otter Books or at the door.
