During the height of the Cold War, in the 1950s and 1960s, nearly 50 bunkers were constructed across Canada. In 2017, the Nelson Museum began work on restoring the space and opening it to the public. You can join a tour of one of the Museumʼs best-loved spaces!

24th Annual FunnyFest Comedy Writing Workshop – “Laugh and Learn”: 30 unique writing methods and receive feedback in a supportive and fun environment. The incredibly applied and practical course is taught by a life-time stand up comedian that has performed in over 2000 shows. Join duo CLOAK & DAGGER and their comrade JAKOB with special guest MRAKI for a spectral second installment of SHADOWPLAY Saturday October 12th at the Oxygen Art Centre. This dark music event takes its name from the iconic track off of Joy Division’s debut album Unknown Pleasures.

Drop by the Nelson Public Library Thursday mornings at 10:30 come to sing your favourite songs and hear some great stories!

Do you love Asian-style dumplings? Join instructor Zen Wang as he walks you step-by-step through the making of delicious Chinese-style dumplings. This class covers how to make the wrappers + fillings from scratch, various folding techniques, and a dipping sauce. Meat and vegetarian options will be available.

Every Friday afternoon, the Nelson Royal Canadian Legion (402 Victoria Street – Stanley Street Entrance) holds meat & prize draws from 3 to 5 pm.  There is also often a 50/50 draw.  All proceeds to local charities.  Please come out and join us in a great community cause.
